A group of National Security officers who stormed the home of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also called Chairman Wontumi, in Paraku Estate this morning have left after a heated altercation with his followers.
Beginning early on Friday morning, a group of police officers and National Security agents stormed Wontumi’s house, purportedly in order to carry out a search warrant.

Although his whereabouts during the original operation were not established, previous reports had implied that Chairman Wontumi might have been placed under house arrest.
A large group of Chairman Wontumi’s supporters and several senior NPP officials from the region arrived as soon as the security forces did to respond to the events that were occurring.
When the stalemate escalated into a furious confrontation, the security guards finally left.
