Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of the House, has admitted that parliamentary procedures are complicated by the large number of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament.
However, Bagbin promised to put forth a lot of effort to keep partisan politics out of parliamentary operations.
Bagbin stressed his dedication to preserving democratic values in remarks to reporters following his swearing-in on January 7.
“We have a lot of people from the NDC, which is another challenge, so I never take anything for granted. I should be able to get them to concentrate more on national interests.”
“What matters to me, and that will be a challenge, is the collective interests of all Ghanaians, whether you are NDC, NPP, PNC, or independent.”
